Man Charged With Misdemeanor for Choking Girlfriend

Posted By Dallas Criminal Defense Attorney || 11-Jan-2013

In a recent case in Collin County, one of our clients was charged with a third degree felony for choking his girlfriend. According to the Texas Penal Code § 12.34 (2009), a third degree felony can result in up to ten years behind bars. Not only could it result in jail time, but a fine of up to $10,000 as well. The client approached our firm for help with this heavy charge against him. After taking on the case, we were able to get the charge reduced to a misdemeanor time served.

If you have been accused of a violent crime or domestic violence, we understand how difficult these cases can be. With a Dallas criminal lawyer from our team on your side, we could help get your charges significantly reduced or even dropped.
